Our Worded Universe
by Georg FeuersteinOriginal Language English
Verdant words tumbling from the sky
like sunbeams.
Dancing on budding tree tops,
they push through fences and gates
into the neighbor's waiting yard
along melodious pathways of intent.
In between, wordless gaps sparkle
and light up our painted universe
--sure counterpoints to the feeble filaments
that string together Heaven and Earth
in a necklace of tenuous meanings.
Like feathered clouds shaking hands
across the firmament,
our drifting thoughts rise skyward:
kites trailing the colorful tail
of a thousand untold lives.
