East

 

 

 

The east is the direction of new birth, it is the direction from which light dawns each morning.

In symbolic language of mysticism throughout the world, to face east or travel eastward is to be oriented toward the Divine, to be receptive to it, to seek the sacred experience of awakening and of light.
